    Dusk Wear???

Years ago my wife found this blue Argyle at the NH Highland games for cheap and got it for me.

I feel like it's too dressy for day wear but not dressy enough for evening wear.
I was thinking maybe taking off the epaulets and cuffs and replacing the silver buttons.
Or having it dyed black. (then I would have 2 black Argyles)
    What do you think?

I've got one in mid-green. I wear it in the evenings and during the daytime.

I think it looks just fine. Blue can just as formalin my view. To tell the truth, it looks black next that "Mc Loud" kilt beside you. I do love the MacLeod colors -- a friend of mine calls it the bumble bee clan.

I guess it doesn't look bad. I just felt like a pair of brown shoes in a room full of tuxedos
Maybe I'll just wear it when I know there won't be a whole lot of black Argyles there.
and RayMc, that's the MacLachlan Dress Tartan.
Almost a McLeod but if you look closely you can see there is no red stripe.

I think it looks fine, but I would agree that it might fit in better in a room where all of the others were not in black jackets.

If you already have a black Argyle why would you want two? I think it looks great and very useful for those in between events, perhaps a kirkin' or a night out where black would be too much. If it were me and I got it on the cheap as you say I'd leave it just like it is. Wear it out to dinner with your wife just to say thank you! :-) See you on the mountain in September.

I find it very easy on the eyes - as you don't need a black Argyle it seems a pity to change it, when it really does look good. No one would ever guess it was not carefully selected to compete the outfit.

I think it rather nice as well and I love the epaulets and gauntlets and all that.
I think you can use it for day OR evening with aplomb. Great coat.
