    Classic Edwardian style sporran Ebay

How cool... the very common old style of sporran... goat hair, with the sheet metal hand-engraved top, three knobs (it was usually either three knobs, or no knobs, in the old days).

Somebody's chance to bring back the old ways...

Some old photos to remind us how common this style was...

Very nice! love the historical photos. Now, if I can save enough coin, I'd love to have a sporran like that.

Obviously there's nothing "military" about the sporran... the typical mis-listing seen on Ebay. If I had a dollar for every vintage civilian sporran, jacket, kilt, cdv, postcard, photo, etc etc which was listed as "military" I'd be a rich man.

The cantle is lovely, but I wonder if the bag is not original?
The cantle has rings on the back for a chain, bag has a keeper on it.

Nice... Very nice. Very, very nice. (I dare not... I'd be in an awful lot of trouble.)

    Thanks, dude!

I think they use the "military" as a tagging system to gather attention or more views.

It's quite common on c1900-1920 sporrans to have rings soldered on the back of the cantle to clip on a chain strap, but also to have the tab sewn on for a plain leather belt if the user prefers that option.

Most likely. It's like calling every tool "Professional" just to lure people. I learned something new today ... sheet metal for the cantle. I would have thought that was a cheap imitation of a "real" cantle.

    Thanks.
