Belt buckle for a wide belt

While that's very often true of pewter in general, it's not true at all of this particular piece. I have no idea what alloy they used to cast this thing, but it's TOUGH. I've been wearing one of these buckles for the better part of three years, and had zero problem with it.

May have to look into it. I have done some pewter casting-spoons and the like-never got past the bendy factor. Tin added maybe?

Tin sounds quite reasonable, but I really don't know much about alloys at all... whatever this stuff is though, Lamar Britt and I are both pretty impressed with it; it's not your standard pewter, by any stretch of the imagination.

You might phone up the company and ask- I think the guy who makes the stuff also answers the phones (not positive, though).

If you decide you want something custom, drop me a PM. I know a couple of really good blacksmiths who would love to make a custom buckle. I do a bit of it, too, but wouldn't want to have anyone else wear my work just yet - it just isn't up to par (yet).
