    Tin sounds quite reasonable, but I really don't know much about alloys at all... whatever this stuff is though, Lamar Britt and I are both pretty impressed with it; it's not your standard pewter, by any stretch of the imagination.

    You might phone up the company and ask- I think the guy who makes the stuff also answers the phones (not positive, though).

    If you decide you want something custom, drop me a PM. I know a couple of really good blacksmiths who would love to make a custom buckle. I do a bit of it, too, but wouldn't want to have anyone else wear my work just yet - it just isn't up to par (yet).
