    To my eye what makes it look more German than Asian are the brown material, and the facings in a contrasting colour. Do a Google search for "trachten jacket" and you'll see what I mean, but here is an image and a link of what your jacket makes me think of:

    It's hard to explain why a Mandarin/Nehru is different... either way, your jacket is really snazzy and unique. It isn't a trachten jacket, maybe just resembles one
