Sporran Strap Holder
Readers;
I have made a couple of sporrans & have a question. When you make a sporran for a strap/chain why is the shape of the 'bracket' that the belt passes thru on the back of the sporran a square/rectangle shape?
Would it not be better if it were a " U" shape, or rather a " V " shape with a " U" shaped base angle, this would follow the line of the strap/chain as it passes around the wearers body, & should make the sporran lie the better, & should distribute the weight a bit better. I noted on my Nightstalker sporran, the wide, long backstrap is quite clumsy with a strap thru it. My own made sporrans had two long, thin backstraps, & they seem to work the better.
OK Sporran Pros-- Why make a long, thick, backstrap on a sporran.
DYI s everywhere, seek an answer(or at least this one does)!
