8 Yard Kilt in 13 oz VS 16 oz

I too was thinking the same about a new kilt in MacLaren modern. 13 or 16. I have 1 5yd and the pleats wrinkle far more than my 2 x 8yd. Up here in the north of Scotland it would be down to cost. My local kilt maker can do a 8yd 13oz wool made to measure for £250.00 but my 2 16oz 8yd kilts cost me £280.00 for the ancient MacLaren and £330.00 for the weathered. I have 1 PV kilt but hardly ever wear it, it just does not have the feel of wool.
