Jimmy, I was wondering what my next kilt would be as I already have both MacLaren ancient and weathered. You have just won me over with the Black Shadow. Very smart.
Can you tell me what the fabric is, mill, weight etc. I cannot find it on my local store's site (McAllans). They normally use Lochcarron or House of Edgar but I have found Marton Mills do a 16oz. wool.
Chris.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the complimentary remarks.
I bought the Black Shadow kilt about 6 weeks ago from MacGregor MacDuff's ex-hire shop in Yoker in Glasgow, its an eight yard woollen kilt and I was told that the person who had ordered it never collected it and it was passed to their ex-hire shop in Yoker.
It was never worn before me and fitted me very well. The cost was £199.
Although a long time kilt wearer, Chris, I am not too knowledgeable about the mechanics behind kilt making but it certainly is a very good and well made kilt.
Jim
Black Shadow tartan is a Marton Mills design but they also do one called Ben Dubh and one called Black Isle, all of whihc are variations upon a theme.
