Cashmere Kilt

I was thinking about that Jock.

"Are there kilts made from another materials?" I would love to ask you what you think about the Utilikilts, very popular in the US? I saw some of them made from Cotton Digital Camo.

Kilts are just made from wool? if its Polyester or Cotton its not a Kilt?

Kilts are made of synthetic tartan material too and is, I understand, quite common outwith Scotland as are non tartan kilts too. I saw my first cotton "utilikilt type" kilt some weeks ago(they are not common in my experience in Scotland), and I cannot say that I liked it much, but I rather grudgingly have to admit that it could not be described as anything else other than a kilt. Whatever I may, or may not, personally like, I like everyone else, have to accept that we all have our likes and dislikes, so an "each to their own" policy is handy. However if a question is asked then be prepared for all sorts of points of views! :lol:

YO, Hay! Jock Scot, I have a Black PV SWK that looks very much like O_Z's. So if we can agree that "a kilt is a kilt is a kilt is a kilt," then perhaps we can prevent the fashionista's from invading our little territory!

I have a question about using cashmere. I like the fabric, but because it has a 'softer finish' than what is usually found in kilts, will it hold the pleats as well?

I think agreeing on what a kilt is, is going to be a tad tricky, particularly as we(the members) cannot even agree on such minor kilt topics as hose colour, head-wear, tartan ties, kilt height, dicing on a bonnet, matching colours, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.. Still, it is in a funny sort of way, rather reassuring that the same topics crop up as regularly as the dawn.

I am no expert, far from it, but it looks like a comfortable modern kilt to me!

Its softer, and cooler than wool, thats a fact, and belive me if its well sewed, the pleats hold perfect, in the picture, because of my posture, they look not so well.
