Hi Ben,
I seemed to have missed your first visit to Tom's Café and I am wondering where you live if you were walking on the South Downs? Frequently, I am to be found up there, on The SD Way, as it is just a few minutes from my home here in Storrington, West Sussex.
At this time of year, I have to admit, I'll be wearing a cotton Utilikilt (or similar) in preference to a woollen kilt - they are SO much cooler.
Like you, I seldom get any reaction at all to my kilts, wherever I am let alone on the South Downs Way.
By the way, there are several of us in the area. For example Dave W. (currently on holiday) lives at Hayling Island. We meet up roughly once a week for a pub meal - you might care to join us sometime. E-mail me at "lycrakilt@aol.com" and I'll let you have my 'phone number so we can chat.
