    The grey in the tartan was actually white at one point during the clan's history, and this has indeed been confirmed by Cluny, as well as Clan Macpherson historians. I would love to have a custom run of this tartan woven by D.C. Dalgliesh, and probably will make that happen some time in the future. You hardly see this style of sett any longer - usually only in some of Cluny's old kilts, and those worn by the older, native Scottish Clan Macpherson Association members.
