So here's the story folks. The Sir John A Macdonald tartan has a sett of about 8 1/4" so even though I asked for pleating to the stripe I suspected it might not work and Brandon confirmed that. There just wouldn't be enough pleats in a 5 yard kilt. It's not exactly pleated to the sett either. The middle pleat uses the same stripe as the middle of the apron and the pleats on either side of the middle are a mirror image to their opposite number on the other side. Like book matching wood grain for all you wood workers out there. Kind of a neat idea I think. I didn't see it at first until I held it up at arms length.
