Henry and John,
What a great photos from both of you. Thanks for taking us all along to Harpenden with you.
I think this might be one of the better photos posted on XMTS!

Thanks to all for the photos and the pics, it's the first time I've missed Harpenden since the mid 90's, so it's great to see the reports. And the rain stayed away! I have played in both the British Airways and the Harpenden pipe bands, so it's been rather warming to see a lot of familiar faces in the pics. Looks like you all had a great time. Cheers!

Great photo essay John, I relived every moment. It was really nice to meet you and the other X markers. It was a great day out and a really well organised event. I suppose the beer was a bit expensive, but I don't mind paying a bit extra when the real ale (Tring brewery) comes straight from the barrel, and the lager was Peroni (which tends to be very expensive anywhere). It was compensated by the free whisky being given out by the man from Whyte & Mackay. In fact I thought the catering was excellent, especially the hog roast!
Hope to meet up again soon. Regards Freddie (Morris) the one with the stick.

Finally got Photobucket to upload.
A few more random pictures of the day and X Markers. Hopefully, I can fill in a few gaps
Freddy, A new member (who's name I can't remember, sorry), Dougle and me.

New member and chapmanredbourn

Three shots of Paul's new kilt - it really is quite spectacular!

The saying 'A picture can't do it justice', is so true in this case.
Although a very similar has been posted already, I am including this one as most of us are looking at one camera this time. There were three cameras on the go at that moment. There is a second reason. You will note the the little notice with 'Hamish' on it. We are X Markers and we should not forget absent friends.
Sue with her friend who is very visually impaired (sorry we didn't get longer to chat), Martin, Freddy, Simon, John, Chas and Hamish and Paul.

Chatting X Markers

More chatting

Can we chat - we can chat for England!

Finally at the end of the day as everybody was going home. What's left of the X Markers and some of the Gay Gordons and some friends - all kilties together!

I must mention Robbie the Piper as well, who stopped by, with only enough time for a hello/goodbye. If by chance we have left someone out between us, please shout out.
Everytime we have one of these get togethers, the amazing thing is that everybody gets on immediately, as we have all been friends for years. For that I am extremely grateful and humbled. Thank you one and all.
Regards
Chas

I must second that Chas. Thanks for your hospitality, John and Paul thanks for the great photos, and thanks to all the other members for making such a great day memorable. P.S. Dougle, judging by that muckle great stick it looks as though you'd been shopping!

WHAAAAAAAAAT?! Where is the mud?! Don't all English events have mud up past my ar...?
Yeah, sure, 1/4 of the men look droolicious and I love the bands and pipes but oh my word, the ducks! I love ducks and this was absolutely hilarious! I love falcons too and hope to meet one in person some day.
But this photo of Big Squeeze and Little Squeeze is simply precious.

Small Bloke on the other hand, seems more than happy to look as appealing as possible while partying on down with frozen yoghurt.
