I sometimes wonder what I'm doing here... I'm getting a bit vexed with pot-shots at non-scots.

Try the Daily Mail or Telegraph to get the alternative perspective. The amount of bile directed at Scots there is just something else.
Getting back to the original subject, I wholeheartedly agree. There really is a limit to the depth anyone (of sound mind that is) can discuss the relative merits of wearing any garment, let alone a kilt. Sadly little discussion of any other subject is permitted here nowadays which does limit ones option somewhat.
