Looks good! The way I see it is if it looks good it is good. The best part is that you made it yourself! Wear it proudly!

An excellent attempt ThomasH. I admire the style you have chosen. May I suggest that instead of the full back plate which obviously adds weight, you just duplicate your front cutting and use that shape for the rear also. Attachment for a belt or chains would be as those on a MoD sporran (see below)

I too am jealous of your skill in knocking out such a wonderful object from bits and bobs lying about the place.

Great work...I will keep watching to see what you do with the bag! I just finished a plain leather bag for my MOD cantle tonight...took me about two weeks of working on it here and there to get it done. I'll post a photo journal of my process when I have time. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing this finished!!

    Very nice work!
Depending on the type of aluminum used, and how you finished/polished it, you may want to wax or clear-coat the back where it will contact the wool. Not to protect the sporran, but to stop aluminum rubbing off on the kilt. Anodizing might be a little expensive...

Your right I did not think of that - man that would not be good if it rubb off on to my kilt
I may cut out the meat of it in the back and add a wax

    thank you for the tip

Thank you - that means alot to me - I figured if I looked at it long enough I would figure out how they were made - I have poured over this project in thought for months , and I am thinking of future projects. You could make any sporran better then what you can buy.
Because it is the one you made.
