					Gents,
Great forum! I come to kilt-wearing from two directions:
-a life long interest in things Scottish. Got my first kilt, a Scottish-made trad 8-yarder in Black Watch, for my 40th birthday present from my family.
-historic reenacting, or "living history". In my `45 Rebellion reenactment group we wear historic Highland garb of the early 18th C., before it was proscribed by the dastardly English. So, if you have great kilt questions, I'm the one to ask!

Thanks for having me on board,
 Brian

					Brian,
It is always a pleasure to welcome a new member to the forum!!

It sounds as if you have a very supportive family especially if they present you a kilt for the big four-o.

Cannot wait to hear of your kilting experiences.
