Anyone have experience with Islay-kilts.com?
Hello all,
I was recently searching around for a specific sporran that I've been interested in buying, in hopes of finding a good competitive price. During my search, I came across this site called Islay-kilts.com, and it had an unbeatable price listed for this particular sporran. The sporran in question is the Adhamh Hunting Sporran by L&M, and the sporran pictured is clearly the one made by L&M, although it's not listed as such.

The thing is, even if it was on clearance, $195.00 (US) for any L&M hunting sporran seems too good to be true, and I fear that may be the case. I noticed they had quite a few sporrans listed for $0.00, which seems awfully strange. Maybe they're sold out?
So, I come to you ladies and gentlemen, and ask if any of you have had any experience with this company. Any input is much appreciated
-Jake

Suggest you do a search on the forum as to Clansman Knitwear prior to ordering.

Why don't you contact L&M Highland Outfitters direct. You would be buying the same sporran, from the same company, for the same price, as any re-seller. And not have to deal with the markup of another step in retail ladder.
Heather and Grant are great to work with. They are members here.

Oh wow, I'm glad my suspicions lead me to seek advice from those with more experience Clansman Knitwear/Ralph is clearly best avoided. Thank you so much for your replies, and good eye on catching that address. Even if I had known about CK, I probably wouldn't have thought to check the addresses.

Steve, I didn't know contacting them directly was an option - I was under the impression that their products could only be bought through dealers. Had I known that, I would have done my last order that way. I had ordered from the Scottish Trading Company and I honestly cannot complain about them; they replied to each of my emails in less than one day and were very friendly, and offered a slightly better price than other sites. It's coming up on week 4 now from the time of placing my order and just received confirmation today that my order shipped via USPS. I'm sure it would have been shipped sooner had this particular L&M sporran not had to be made at the time of ordering (apparently it was not in stock at either STC or L&M itself; I suppose the black/brass combination is not of particularly high demand). I digress; I would have ordered directly from L&M simply for the sake of getting the best price possible. But, my experience with STC has been good and I'm okay with giving them my business in this case
Cheers,
-Jake
