Then its not a kilt. lol. Not even a "kilt."
You will probably get more reactions as time goes on Enjoy. I dont get any, as I'm a woman. People just assume im wearing a plaid skirt.
But one day I WAS wearing just a plaid skirt and a friend goes "Meghan! You look so Scottish today!" and I was like "thanks! too bad you couldnt say that when I was actually wearing a tartan skirt."

no such thing as a bad kilt. Only a Kilt badly worn. For Omars friend he could wear a good one backwards LOL

I was at a dedication ceremony for the Highway of Heroes last weekend (the New Brunswick portion of the Trans Canada Highway has been designated the Highway of Heroes in remembrance of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom) and a young lad came up to me, pointed at my sporran and asked what it was called. When I explained the name and purpose he suggested that it should really be called a "Murse". I chuckled, as did his dad, an army Warrant Officer.

Was going kilted to the pub yesterday. As I came to an intersection I stopped to let a car pass in front of me. As soon as it got by me it stopped in the middle of the street and I crossed the street behind it. As soon as I got to where the driver (a very attractive young lady) could see me she leaned out the window and said, "you rock, you look fantastic" and then drove off. That sure did help the ego of this 74 year old.

My favorite was after playing a benefit on St. Pattys day with my FD pipe band. We were leaving the formal event to head on a pub crawl and I fortunately happened to be the last one to the van when a group of cougars decided they wanted a picture with the kilted firefighter..... They felt the need to check what was under my kilt and I definately enjoyed it. Needeless to say the rest of the band was jeleous.

:-O
they just walked up and asked to see "whats under the kilt?" Eeeeew......I think that would make me really uncomfortable. lol.
If anyone asks me that at Eid tomorrow, they're leaving with a bright red cheek! (and by that, I mean the one on their face!!!.....unless their comment is really clever, then it might be the other one )

The other morning I went kilted to Wal-Mart to pick-up some cat food and an older gentleman came up to me. He said that I was just the person he had been looking for. When I asked how I could help him he asked what is a Tam o' Shanter 2. (Note this was in a deep Pennsylvania accent and totally out of context and is easy to understand when written verses spoken). I asked him to repeat his question and he said that he has a song the keeps running through his head, "he wore a kilt and a Tam o' Shanter too" (part of the lyrics of "My Bonnie Lassie")
I tried to explain Tam o' Shanter to the gentleman. I am not sure I got the concept across.
If you see abbreviations, initials or acronyms you do not know the Xmarks FAQ section on abbreviations may help.
