Yeah, I used velcro. I will probably do some sort of straps on my next one, but haven't decided yet. After I complete the one for the kids I was asked to look at making some for a group I'm in. The officers all want matching ones to use as a uniform. Love how I do just one and people start asking me to do one for them. Must have done a pretty good job then.

Trust me, you have to be careful with this, or you'll have "orders" lined up for three months ahead of you and 200 hours of volunteer work. I've finally decided that I say "no" to anybody who asks, but I will decide on my own, very rarely, that I will make a kilt for somebody. However, I have to attend to my own agenda, first. Like, for example, I have material to make a kilt for young throwing lad, Garrett.

However, I am NOT making his kilt until I finish sewing up the sunbrella boat cover, put the mast step in the boat, and finish my MacNaughton, modern kilt for myself. NO.

I know what you mean Alan. I've got three sewing projects in front of me right now, none of which are small and you add on all of the real life stuff (i.e. work and family) time for doing projects definitely disappears way too quickly.
