Is that a penny whistle being used as some sort of penannular broach?

I'm thoroughly confused by ebay... 8 yard wool kilts for less than 1/2 price ($200) don't sell, but THAT outfit / costume gets $350? I give up.

Of course, it isn't eBay itself, they just provide a venue for the feeding frenzy. Is it a full moon?
Does anybody know if that is a real tartan or MacTablecloth

It's the MacQueen tartan (but pretty faded).
The thing that I can't figure out is how there can be so many people tall enough for a 23" kilt with 15" waists!

I'm thinking that the 15" measurement is just across the top of the kilt, and that the actual waist measurement is double that, or a little more. Just looking at the photo, there's no way it could be a 15" waist if the length is 23".

Yes lovely handsewn 8-yard kilts, vintage or ex-hire, go for little, lovely vintage sporrans go for under $50, and this tatty costume goes for $350. Crazy.

This cant be real, can it? It honestly looks like a halloween costume kilt set. The tartan alone looks super thin and flimsy. And I dont see any buckles on the sides at all.
and yes, that is definitely a feadog on that sash. Wowzers....

More proof that P.T. Barnum was right.
