Adam go down to your local Joann Fabrics, 10368 Festival Ln, and check about sewing classes. If I can do it at 63, it can't be that hard.
I was in one Joann's looking at plaid fabric and the sales lady asked me, a male, if I sewed or was it for my wife. I told her it was for me and my wife doesn't sew. I told the sales lady that I was sewing a kilt. She said that she used to sew kilts and we talked for a while on the subject.
Welcome to the addiction.
