DIY Kilts #4 an5
#5 on the left, with myself in it, #4 on the right, girding my brother's loins. Both are 16 oz. MacTavish Modern, mine from Marton Mills and his from Lochcarron. They are virtually identical tartan-wise - colors and thread counts. He wanted (and got) pleating to the slightly wider blue stripe on a red field, I opted for the thin blue stripe over black. IMO, a classic example of how different looks can be had from the same tartan by using different pleating options.
Both got their shake-down cruise this past weekend at the Columbus, Indiana Games and both passed sea trials with flying colors.
