I hope to make a second flap this weekend, and maybe get started on a slightly smaller version. This sporran is about 8 inches wide. I think 6 or 7 inches wide would be a bit more practical.
It all depend on the activities you are going to be involved in. Walking, talking and sitting are fine, but active hiking or in my case Scottish Country Dancing, can cause the sporran to bounce. Can be painful. I find adjusting up an inch is more than enough to cure the problem.
