Kilted regiment identification advice.

I'm quite sure that while serving he would have worn the magnificent vintage Gordon Highlanders piper's dirk which belongs to the regiment (seen in the magazine cover above). The photo I posted was taken, I'm told, after he left the service, and he's wearing an inexpensive mass-produced civilian dirk with plastic handles.
