I'm in New Jersey: 1,342 miles down, 832 to go. Today was a scorcher at 94 degrees and humid, but hiking shirtless was almost bearable (of course I still have a pack on my back). Latest updates and photos at my web page: http://www.breecher.com

Hope I'm not needlessly spamming, but I've updated my hiking journal again. I'm now in Great Barrington, MA, after over 1,500 miles. Only 667 miles to go!

I'm nearly in New Hampshire now, which means I'm entering the uphill side now: the White Mountains and the rugged mountains of southern Maine. *shudder* Anyway, things are still going great.
In the heat a few weeks ago I finally broke down and bought a pair of silk boxer shorts to wear at night while I'm sleeping. Up until then I'd been sleeping nude, but with the heat I didn't want to get into my sleeping bag, and the shelters are communal so I didn't want to flash too many people. So now I wear boxers at night, and for swimming in ponds and rivers, but still the kilt all the rest of the time.
Hope all is well. Onward and upward!
Andrew/Haiku.

Andrew, for those unfamiliar with the USA, does your website have a map showing the area you have covered?

That stuff works nice i have used it before.
what i like to do if i am going to be doing over 10 miles a day is honestly get a set of panty hose. it sounds bad but it can help a ton. In the Marine corps we would use then a good amount on long marches just cut the legs out and then use the legs/ feet for socks 1st layer , or if it real cold wear the whole thing. it is also a nice defence against some bugs.
we never had much access to anti chafe stuff other then the doc would toss us some vasoline or something heheh.

Here's a link to a Trail map.
I'm now in North Woodstock, New Hampshire. 372 miles to go! I don't have any chafing problems now that I use Body Glide.
