New Pattern Brass Cantle Sporran
This one just rolled off my bench and is on it's way to it's new owner.

Detail of Cantle & Pinking
The cantle is based on a C 1750-1800 piece I was asked to restore. I had to both straighten some previous damage as well as craft a few bag.
The link to that project is HERE.
The original was sand cast (which is how it was possible to get such a deeply cut design). The new version is built up of silver soldered sheet brass and an oil and wax finished tooled cowhide bag.
The new version has also been scaled up to accommodate today's larger body/hand, the original was ~5.25" across the mouth.
As always, constructive commentary is most welcome.

Scott, you continue to raise the bar with each new piece. I've got to say this may be your most stunning piece to date. Simply beautiful!

Holy halibut! That is just incredible. One of the most beautiful sporrans I have yet to lay eyes upon. You aren't a craftsman ... you're an artist! (although I'm sure that's been said before)

Yes, Yes, Yes, it's on its way to the Antipodes
As discussed earlier today Scott, it has exceeded my rather high expections of what I wanted.
A full review will be forthcomming upon receipt of this masterpiece.
Just one thing to note, is that if you are dealing with Artificer and he gives you a time frame, take it as gospel. This is my second order and nothing has changed.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Thank you, Downunder Kilt!
It'll be off in today's post. I think you currently hold the record for fastest international delivery (six days from posting to door), so we'll have to see if USPS and the Australian Postal Service can outperform their previous "Best"

Man, that is a beauty. I'd love to own an Artificer sporran some day, but until then, I'm just going to have to drool from afar. Great job on this one!
Cheers,
