My masterpiece has arrived.
I have been a follower of Artificer since he commenced making sporrans and purchased his number 8, HRH Prince Charles inspired creation.
I was most enthused when he announced that he was intending to create working brass cantles and followed his progress eagerly.
I watched his creations develop and finally pulled the pin with a design that I had always wanted. Working with Artificer on some of the finer details was rewarding and his willingness to incorporate any details you desire is never too much effort.
Now, to the construction of the cantle. It is solid, immaculately soldered and constructed, and finished to a mirror shine. The latching system is a delight to use with no gaps between the front and rear plates. One nice touch is that Artificer has angled the sporran strap holding loops on the rear of the sporran so that the belt sits flat against the rear of the cantle. Those of you with ex MoD functioning cantles will know what I mean. I have not weighed the sporran to compare it with a MoD one or another functioning sporran I have in my collection, but wearing it there is no noticeable difference in weight.
Overall I am absolutely delighted with the sporran and, as I have said before, Scott is a Master Artificer in my eyes.

What more can I say but, thank you Artificer![]()
