LOL, you've hit on one of my major pet peeves with badges, clan crests, and other paraphernalia. I don't know why they have to be so cartoonish and caricature-like. I'm not sure if it comes down to poor craftsmanship, a lack of artistic ability when creating them, or something else. But I've had to pass on many a clan crest item that I would otherwise have wanted, just because I thought it looked absurdly child-like in the execution. And since my clan crest features a stag head prominently, it's hard to show it off proudly if it looks like it was done by my 4 year-old grandson.
I know a stag head is not the easiest thing to draw, embroider, carve, or cast. But surely it can't be that difficult to make it not look like a cheesy rendition of a moose?
