Looks like Balmoral tartan.

Two quick points:
1) This entire thread would have been perfectly proper in the Traditional forum, and
2) The Duke of Edinburgh might be said to be wearing two entirely different tartans, in that Balmoral might always be the Royal tartan, but Royal Stewart might not.
