Well I have little sense as well. I purchased some F&K tartan (the mystery blue) to make a Christmas give for my partner. Doing as you did, machine top stitched pleats, but he's a little bigger, so needed 30 pleats. "I will get it done" is my new mantra. And I will. Sent it out to have it hemmed, because I may be crazy to commit to this, but I'm not insane!

Progress.....last week I ironed in the pleats pretty hard, though they'll need touching up. Most recently, I got the tailors canvas in, and the liners, and this morning I put on the tartan waistband. *WHEW*....all that's left is the buckles/belts, some stray-thread trimming, another ironing and then it gets wrapped. Gotta have it by Saturday! *ACK!*
As for pictures, I would think that the recipient will likely wear the kilt at Burns Night, so you'll all get to see it.

Next up, Mrs. Farlander gets a Kilt Skirt in MacFarlane, Red, modern to be stitched up at the Nor Cal Stitch 'n Bitch......errrr.... Nor Cal Make-a-Kilt day. I've offered to make Highland Games pro athlete and world champ in 2010, 2011...Dan McKim a "hammer kilt" but it's been a few weeks now and he's not been forthcoming with his measurements, so I suspect that Mrs. Farlanders kilt will be the last one for a while.
If I still get to go to Scotland in July then I will make myself a PV throwing kilt probably around late February. Much depends on the state of my knee. I know I'm being pessimistic, but we'll see.
Also, I have some very nice heavy-ish wool plaid, which is the color scheme of Black Watch, but the tartan isn't a twill weave, and stripes aren't quite right and the sett is too small to make a kilt out of it. However, there's a mess of it. This was a freebie that was given to CHAC throwing queen, Bethany O. and she passed it on to me. I could give it to the Highlander Warriors for a Great Kilt, or I could turn it into something besides a kilt. A waistcoat, perhaps? Would I ever wear a "Black Watch" (sort of) waistcoat?
