Could have used a bit of that fire and brimstone here in Minnesota yesterday. Wind Chill was around zero Farenheit. But we made it through the day, and I celebrated our survival with a wee bit of Highland Park last evening. (If I'd really been worried, I would have finished the bottle the night before. No sense letting good scotch go to waste.)

Damn, I guess that means I have to go back to work on Monday.

Am I living in a post apocalyptic America? Wow! I'm one of the survivors! The lines for gasoline and bottled water aren't nearly as long as I'd imagined.

I'm guessing it is post apocalyptic, gas lines for me yesterday were very long... well it was that or the fact gas was only $2.99/gallon.

I wasn't expecting anything to happen. After the failure of the power to go out in 2000, I'm not seeing any point of expecting different. Life goes on and really anyone that expects the world to end really is being overly pessimistic.

And now we wait for the next prediction of the end to get the uneducated and gullible into a snit fit. It happens regularly and frequently.

Here in the post-apocalyptic Northwest, the drop in population is almost unnoticeable. The lines for food and fuel are short, although I did have to wait a bit for a pint last night at the pub. I have noticed a dramatic shift in the weather: instead of being gray and rainy like it usually is here in Washington, it is actually rainy and gray. Crazy, huh?

I'm kilted, armed, and there's beer in the fridge. I'm prepared to live like this for as long as it takes.
