Steady now Tom my OH is a redhead. She doesn't object to me wearing a kilt but is bemused when I do. She doesn't really understand why I feel so strongly about it but bless her , she loves me so she tolerates it. But we do have a bit of a joke about her walking 3 yards ahead of me when I am wearing it. Although she is never far away when other women want their picture taken with me. She even paid for my Clan Association membership.

Good gracious Simon, you are one the few Brits that I have ever known that actually belongs to a Clan Association!

I can think of Alex(cessnatowser), but few others. Still, its a nice gesture from your wife.

    Bahahaha!

I dont have a wife, but I think that whether or not she approved of same would be a deciding factor, for sure!

Alan, love your reasoning, and I think that your written response is proof that you're also member of the "kit is a man and a half" club. I am too.....LOL..

    (sorry, I couldn't resist).

I think you should get some movies for them all to watch with kilts in them or of Roman times or from times when men went around in knee-length belted tunics (Norse, Anglo-Saxons, etc) . It's interesting that you could pick an historical movie from almost any time period and almost any place and see men wearing kilt-like or even longer wraps or tunics (except the last centuries).
I've always felt that the depiction of Roman garb (short, thin tunic, and sleeveless Marks and Spencer's vest) was probbably not authentic. Having visited Hadrian's Wall on a cold windy day, I reckon they would have died of hypothermia!
I wonder what they really did wear.

Indeed! Well said, Simon. However, I prefer the more curvy Nigella as opposed to the newer version we have now...she lost way too much weight! Go back to cooking with loads of butter, lass!

    Cheers,
