Hopefully with use, the stiffness sitting down will ease. I most heartily understand the amazing amount of work, but then that is why we do it ourselves.
Actually, buckskin has the grain removed. That's one of the reasons it's so soft. But you have to deal with areas like the rumps that "pooch" out. I did a lot of ironing to keep the hides workable.
