Four kiltmakers talking shop
Yesterday it was a wonderful treat to have 4 kiltmakers altogether in one room, at the Ireland Show in New Jersey. My teacher Ann Stewart, new kiltmaker Hazel Stewart and I visited the House of Cheviot represented by famed kiltmaker Matt Newsome. It was so great to share kiltmaking tips and stories.

Great photo but let's not forget Steve, rocky, Robert and John Hart. None of these should ever be allowed to travel on the same airplane.

It's great to see Ann in the photo. She has been making kilts for our family for decades. Her apprentice has now taken over the shop and we've started buying from them.

I was at the show as well, but not in the room at that time. I DID meet with Matt and Doreen (from The Kiltmaker's Apprentice), so we had 3 in the room at the same time at least! The show was a trade show for retailers and kiltmakers to attend to shop the products from wholesalers they want to put in their shops! You have to be "in the business" to attend.... it's not open to the public.

Ah, sort of like a CIA reunion.
A great photo of four talented kiltmakers. May they all prosper and enjoy their well-earned acclaim.

I heard that Rocky and Doreen were there at the show too, but didn't see them. It really would have been great if all 6 of us were in the room at the same time. Maybe next year, I hope.
