If you are big in the waist like me, I have found that Argyll jackets are much more flattering than Prince Charlies.

The most "slimming" look for me is to wear an Argyll without waistcoat or belt, and button the Argyll (one button only). This trims off 30 pounds easily! The waistcoat and belt add thickness around the waist.

Wearing the Argyll unbuttoned with a waistcoat adds pounds, and a Prince Charlie does even more! On my body anyway.

Here I am a few years ago wearing an Argyll without waistcoat or belt, buttoned

Here I am recently, 30 pounds lighter than I was when the above photo was taken, but looking heavier, wearing a PC with the waistcoat from my Argyll (you can see the difference in my face!)
