Thumbs up Beaver Fur Hunter Sporran with Celtic Swirls

So excited to post this picture that Donnie sent me this morning of the Beaver Fur Hunter Sporran he has made for my wedding and is on it's way here in the mail!

My fiancée and I are using various Celtic swirl patterns as the major visual theme in our wedding. I spent a summer in Ireland and The Book of Kells and the artwork within it hold very special meaning for me. So when I saw Donnie's work I knew he had to be the one to make my sporran. Originally I was going to order one of his regular leather sporran and then I saw a picture of his "Brothers in Arms Hunter Sporran" and I knew I had to have it in that style. I also decided on beaver fur, as I've always liked beavers and I am in Michigan and the beaver is such a great symbol the north.

After working with Donnie on what kind of swirl would look best we settled on this one and I am so happy with how it turned out. As I told Donnie in my e-mail to him this morning I will be honored to wear such a beautifully crafted piece on my wedding day in October!

Now I just need to finish crafting my Sgian Dubh and have my final kilt fitting.

    Thank you again Donnie!

Very nice. I do like the triple swirl. Also much better balanced with the fur than I would have expected. Congradulations to the both of you and wishing you can wear it often.

It is beautiful. I used to be in the wild fur business and for many reasons beaver is a great choice. It is a wonderful robust fur with lots of colour variations and character. It wears very well and is warm. The species is abundant (even overso in some regions) and the meathods of harvest humane. 200 years ago they were overharvested to the point of near extinction for beaver hats, but sound managment and conservation have returned thier numbers to to levels that make them one of our best conservation success stories.

I would wear that sporran with pride.

Thanks all for the comments. The sporran arrived today and it is even more stunning in real life. I can't wait now for my kilt to be finished so I can post some pictures of it with it. Truly a work of art!

Congratulations Bish, that is a fine looking sporran. I have just commissioned a wyvern sporran and have been corresponding with Donnie. Seeing your sporran I am confident that I have made an excellent choice.
