I was a bit nervous at first, but once I passed a few local shop keepers I'm friendly with and having their reaction be nothing but positive, I grew in confidence (although a gust of wind that almost blew the kilt up at the back did make me panic for a split second! lol).

The first "real" time in public was when I was DJing at a club on a friday night. Everybody loved it; some guys thought I'd lost a bet, but a lot of girls were asking the "are you wearing anything underneath" question (I wasn't incidentally).

Since then, I've worn it out about half a dozen times and loved every minute of it. Already ordered my second kilt, which is arriving on Tuesday, and have my eye on a third as well as decided which tartan to use when I have a traditional one made.

Soooooo addictive and so much fun!
Love the ensemble - looks great

It is addictive, and expensive - even the PV kilts are £50 a pop though EBay is your friend - I've found many a bargain from the auctions - though sometimes bidding can get a little wild - have a very interesting denim kilt from Poland, and a Dress Stewart (white) -

and a more controversial Pinstripe Kilt Suit. Pinstripe divides some here on the forum, the Mrs prefers regular tartan, though initially she hated all kilts. I wear my sporran with mine or it can look a little like a ladies business suit

I've walked a section of Lordship Lane in mine - passing passengers on the 243 bus found it amusing - though I've not had any adverse comments - just quizzical looks. I've found the key is confidence - carry on as you would in jeans. Google 'Benny D' - another kilted DJ ( http://www.djbennydfansite.com/photo...-at-la-marina/ ) he's Akon's DJ. Some of his kilts are a little long though
