Sgian dubh

I didn't make this myself - it was made by my youngest son as a Father's Day present, and given to me Saturday. It's D2 steel, with brass hardware and black walnut stock in a tight fitting veg tan sheath that I need to dye soon. The sgian dubh is extremely sharp as well. He has volunteered to make me a dirk in the future!

You can see the quality of his work in the pics here, particularly how the tang of the blade comes up through the walnut and is flush with the brass at the end. I can assure you I will wear this with considerable pride!

Thanks Elizabeth! Yes, I have 3 talented sons, but this one (our youngest - he'll be 29 soon) has been playing swords from a very young age. He has quite a collection already and enjoys making knives. He's a marketing coordinator for a sharpening company too, perfect job for this young man.
