Guess who made the Dean's List?

This past Friday I was checking my personal email when I spotted one sent from the VP of the school that I attend. My first thought was "uh-oh, what did I do now?"
Imagine my surprise when I read the following:

Mr. Holmes,

The Dean’s List at Whatcom Community College honors full-time students who have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.50. Each quarter, less than 10% of the more than 5,000 WCC students enrolled for credit earn Dean’s List recognition.

Because of your outstanding performance Spring Quarter, 2013, you have earned the honor of recognition as Dean’s List Scholar. On behalf of the entire Whatcom Community I congratulate you on this outstanding achievement. Your success is also Whatcom’s success.

Anyone who knows me also knows how I've fought and struggled my way through school the past two years (I have one more to go), so this honor is all the more sweeter & makes it all worth while. I guess it is true, you *CAN* teach an "old dog" new tricks!
