And this one on Saturday was for a record I believe, but I'm not sure of the gents name or the record. Can you fill in the details Alan?
And the gent he was going head to head with.
That duel was one of the most awsome times at the whole Games. Andy Vincent is the second guy and Mike Zolkiewiecz is in the first picture. Both of them cleared 18 feet in WOB, which is phenomenal, and then both of them broke the field record at 18' 2". Mike Z got 18' 4", Andy didn't, so Mike won that event, but clearing 18's 2" is a HUGE accomplishement! What was great was how they were cheering each other on in between throws...smacking hands, re-setting the weight for each other, stuff like that. THAT is what makes this sport so great!
You were busy "working" on Saturday Alan so we didn't get time to chat, but contrary to your frequent protestations I did catch you "just standing around looking good in your kilt"
Are you kidding?? 1.) I don't look NEARLY "good" enough to be "looking good in my kilt". Mah gut pooches out! And second, if I hadn't been holding up that partition, it would have fallen down and who knows what would have happened!!!
I hope to get some time together at Dixon.
That would be nice, I haven't seen you in a while!
