Fresh horror from Bonsai Sporrans...
Witness the full mask wolverine (which looks like it was perhaps hit by a car and reconstructive efforts were less than satisfactory... But nice toe spread! ):

Man that looks like a dog - I seen a show where some over seas vendors were using Dogs and cats and coloring the hide to look like something esle , is was crazy.
But yes this one looks bad ,are his eyes shut or not there. ?

Okay. I have to give them credit...I just commissioned a boar fur sporran from them...so far the in progress pics look really good. Once it is finished and arrives I'll put a pic of it on this tread to prove that not everything they do is........like the wolverine.
But then again....I've never been a fan of the full mask's......they just look like someone couldn't part with the family pet. But thats just my personal taste.

I hope that works out for you, but the only thing I'm giving them credit for at this point are some truly awful looking sporrans. I scrolled back through the thread, and every instance of horror I've posted was by that maker...
Do let us know how it turns out!

Okay....so for some reason the work in progress pic isn't saving to my comp...so I had to take a pic of the monitor and then send it to my e-mail.....Hope this helps. Boar hair. I also asked to not make a sporran strap for this one since I have many that are hanging like wind chimes in my closet. I have 2 sporran straps I use. One black, and one brown. Both are all leather and no chain.

Again....I've never been much for the full mask's, even the old MoD ones. It just looks like a stuffed pet to me.

Well, that looks quite promising indeed!

It's true that Bonsai is responsible for some real atrocities, as we have seen, but a couple others on their Ebay store look decent enough to my untrained eye.
(I tried to upload a couple photos, but my work computer isn't making it happen tonight.)
They have a hairy Goat fur sporran with a targe that I like, even though the cantle is severely plain. They also have a full Skunk sporran (without mask) that I like quite a bit!
Would anybody care to share an opinion of those two, please try to dissuade me from spending money on them?

Hiburnicus:
I'd be hesitant to spend the money without a review of someone who's already taken the plunge... I've not seen any of Bonsai Sporran's work in person, but I'd want to have some assurance that the workmanship was up to snuff before I spent the money. Personally, I'd save the money and put towards the work of a more established and reputable maker.
I can, however, heartily endorse one maker of skunk sporrans (http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...sporran-61422/), and there are other makers/advertisers on this forum who could set you right.
To each his own!

I admire your courage. Provided the man restrains the urge to tack the tusks on somewhere, it seems to be going well.
