This being a kilt forum I will observe that in those photos Matt invariably has a smart kit, and it did not escape my attention that he wears the multi-piece cap badge, and kilt, of the pipers of The Queens Own Highlanders.

Good eye, Richard. Yes, Matty was gifted the badge by the late P/M Alasdair Gillies and wears the Cameron of Erracht tartan in his memory. They were fairly good mates (and they kind of look a like).
