I would agree with all of the above and add this; it you give your pictures titles or descriptions, it gives search engines something to look for. So your picture "Day at the Seaside", would come up when anybody searches Google images for either day or seaside.

If members use proper housekeeping; put pictures in different folders; set the privacy level for each folder, there is usually no problem.

Except that people can still steal pictures if they want to. It is almost expected. I use FireFox and one of my addons is Photobucket - I can right click on any picture, anywhere, and add it to my own bucket.

I checked one of my pictures in the thread for headwear. When I click on the photo I get the left-right arrow but can not navigate to the next picture (made sure that Photobucket window did not show me as "logged in"). I have my settings for that album as "private". So check the security settings for the picture and album. When I put something online, especially a photo, I ask myself if this is something I would show my mother. If not, then I don't post it.

Until recently I always linked to Photobucket. My pictures there do not have any tags or titles so it is highly unlikely that anyone would find them by searching the internet. It is true though that you could click on an xmarker's photo and be linked to their photobucket account where you could in theory view their other photos if these have not been set as private.
Recently I have had difficulty uploading to Photobucket and have linked to my Flickr account which is a public account, with titles and tags, which anyone can access directly from the internet. Indeed I have included a link to that account in my signature. I do however have some photos on Flickr set as family only which means that only myself and my Canadian cousins who are Flickr members are able to view them. I suspect many of us will have something in our Photobucket or Flickr accounts which, although family friendly, would not be compliant with the xmarks rules, for example photos involving religion, politics and firearms. In my opinion, there would only be a rules violation if you are linking DIRECTLY from here to these photos or encouraging people to go searching for them on your photostream
