Caerlaverock Castle would be a romantic venue, by the Solway Coast.

If you held your event at Gretna Green, or at Caerlaverock Castle, both of these are within easy reach of Ferintosh Guest House, Dumfries, which is owned by xmarker Pour1Malt.

Many thanks for all the ideas: I now hesitate between Balgonie, Gretna and Caerlaverock Castle.
All these venues look nice (difficult choice...)

No worries, mate! I've heard nothing but good praise from patrons of Balgonie Castle.

I spent some time in Scotland this summer, and fell in love with the Isle of Skye. I have the perfect place, at least in my opinion, and that's at the gardens of Dunvegan Castle...it's a spectacular place. The gardens are unbelievable. Try doing a Google search and see what you think. Good luck with your decision!

Dalhousie Castle is where the wife and I spent a couple nights on our honeymoon and we absolutely LOVED it!!

So very difficult to choose among all these very relevant ideas!
I visited both Dunvegan and Dalhousie castles a few years ago: very good souvenirs among which gardens in Dunvegan and the Dungeon restaurant and spa at Dalhousie!
