tartan vest w/PC
I think the Gent (second from left) wearing the green PC jacket with a tartan vest is smashing as well as very creative, in spite of his sporran being a bot TOO low (ouch?). Wonder how much a vest like that costs in tartan?
BTW, I have a photo of my new outfit but have ask Steve for help posting it. I'll have more info soon as I have something to say!

You can check with J Higgins... as I recall having a waistcoat done up in tartan isn't all that expensive.
Yes I really like that illustration! A rather more formal "take" on the Prince Charlie, with lace jabot and tartan waistcoat. Lovely!

Green goes well with my Caledonian Tartan kilt...

worn to a Ball in the summer. Nothing but compliments, I stood out in a sea of black Tuxedos. I might even pair it with my Saffron kilt for the next Ball in the winter

Very smart!
BTW I used to have an outfit that, looking back on it, had way too much green: Black Watch kilt worn with dark green Argyll jacket and dark green hose. I guess I really, really liked green at that time in my life! Happily I don't seem to have any pics of it.

Bottle green is a classic option as is navy blue. I have only had one opportunity to wear this bottle green Balmoral doublet so far but I received a lot of compliments that evening.

I have been on the fence for quite some time as far as doublets, I'm not really a prince charlie kind of guy, and Ill get my pic up here soon, but I have to ask....what does that look like.....Without the belt being worn with? I am aware that it is traditionally worn with...but I'm just curious is all.

Okay, So I have a Killkenny vest and jacket in bottle green, Paired with the tartan that shall not be named! and Purple Hose.....I'll be getting some diced or argyle hose eventually to go with....but too much green?!?!?! Psshhhaaawwww! No such thing! LOL I may wind up wearing this to the next Burns night up here in MN. If I can get the sleeves shortened.....just an inch too long for my taste.

I looks like the belt is missing. ;)

I think green goes well with the government tartan.

Tartan vest in the works for this season...
