I do like them, and I'd wear them any time I wanted to "cut a dash" as Jock says.

I think that they are more suited to "cutting a dash" in saxon dress than in Highland Dress. They are neither suitable for Highland Daywear nor Highland Evening wear. To me they would just seem a bit "out of place".
