Derek, I have been known to sing a note or two, my voice is more operatic baritone / bass. Have taken part in Gilbert and Sullivan light operas and sung on many occasions elsewhere, if this fits in I would be happy to take part, although like many others my PC skills are limited.
On the plus side you are only a couple of hours away so could call in to lay down some vocals.

I used to sing in a band, if you'll want me, I'll see what I can do to get recorded. Lead sheets are good. (I won't even try playing the guitar, I've been off it for over 10 years...)

It will be good to dust off my mandolin chops, such as they ever were!

Sounds good. I'm in to bang on some skins. How fun!
I've heard several of the musical projects from some of the folks here. I can assure you al that it will be a lot of hard work but the results will be quite enjoyable. Lots of talent gathered here.

I wish I'd seen this earlier. I'm also interested in joining the band. I play rhythm guitar, ukelele, autoharp and a bit of banjo. I can also add some tenor harmonies if wanted.

Forgot to mention ... if we could all take a pic of ourselves when were doing our recordings that might turn into a nice picture thread for the band.

Cockles in D, no prob!
There are different versions of that melody floating around, so sheet music to the version you're doing would be nice, unless the pipes will be doing an instrumental.
What tempo?
I can record it at my friend's house. I'm guessing that with Pro Tools you can move it around, use it wherever in the piece you need it.
I can also record a harmony part on whistle to go with the pipes... might be kinda cool.
What an exciting project, and what a wonderful idea! Thanks Derek!

Derek,
I'll send the email addy in a bit. I'm a bit late getting back in, so if the orchestra is full, that's OK. But just in case, I've been playing along with the video I found here.

just to get a feel of the song and its flow.
