I used to sing in a rock band (no, you haven't heard of me, LOL!). I also have a deep voice, and can't reach the high notes in typical tenor arrangements. Think Bing Crosby or Johnny Cash, or even Elvis Presley, as far as pitch is concerned. Unlike the latter, people have been known to complain that I don't move enough when singing, but I do have the long rock star hair! Anyway, doesn't sound like you need another singer.

OK Derek I just got two email addresses from my friend with the recording studio, and I've PM'd them to you.
He's a full-blown techie so I'm sure he will know how to make everything work.
I think that if I lay down a few variants of the melody and a couple different harmony ideas you can move stuff around and layer stuff however you wish. (Aren't computers great?)

Yes we have the files, I should be going into the studio tonight, and recording the tune on pipes and various whistles, which you can (I'm assuming) move about and arrange how you wish.
I'll put down an uilleann drone track (D) too in case you want to use that underneath at any point.
See ya! Richard

I'm really out of the loop when it comes to recording - if it doesn't have little wheels and rubber bands I'm lost. It does look to be fun, though.
I know quite a few people who make cds of themselves in what must be the same way, recording all the different instruments they play and then themselves singing both the melody and harmonies. One even translated himself, electronically, up into the female register so as to get a contralto voice. I think he wants to be a one man version of Steeleye Span.
