McNice... the UtiliKilts are actually sewn-up a little bigger than what you measure. Mostly, that's because they will shrink (a little) with washings and wear.
MY advise is to just measure around your waist WITHOUT jeans, if you like it a little tighter. Don't suck-in your gut! Measure right where you're gonig to wear the kilt (usually where the belt is on your jeans). When you order from them, make sure to pick the right size, and don't try to get it smaller. Let your measuring, and their experience be the guide.
