Nelson, you might find the Scotsmans Lounge on Cockburn Street is a just what you want, in Edinburgh. This is just off the Royal Mile, near the junction of North Bridge. And then if you go down Cochburn Street towards the Waverley Station, and turn right onto Market Street you will find the Hebrides Tavern. Both of these pubs have nightly live music -I go there often !
Enjoy your trip.

Wow, I am very envious of your impending good fortune! Yesterday, my sister-in-law offered to take my wife on an all expenses paid trip to Scotland. Even though I scolded my wife for it and begged her to reconsider her choice, she turned her sister down with the reason that she wants to see Scotland for the first time with me. I was touched! Of course, that will not be able to take place for some years until the kids are out of the house.
Have a good time, Nelson! If you happen to get some first hand knowledge of this deep-fried pizza which MDR-V300 mentioned, I would appreciate hearing the details.

Have a great time over there.
My wife and I just got back two weeks ago. We had a blast eventhough we were only able to spent four days there before moving on to Ireland. Like me, you'll probably be the only one in a kilt other than the shop keepers.

Agreed!! I never said that deep fried pizza didn't sound revolting, because it certainly does. What I am interested in hearing is whether or not it truly exists!
